In almost all my training programs, I have a mention of goals. Why? Because goals are so important to your success. It is probably the number one skill you need to master.
It is your starting point, your middle and your end. If you don’t have goals, you will get lost in the overcrowded jungle and get nowhere. So, set goals and become aware of yourself.
Brian Tracy says “Your goals have to be personal, positive and in the present tense.” He further says “write your goals like you’ve already achieved them.”
For example, I have an income of $ 1 million per year by December 31, 2009. This goal is positive, present and in the present tense.
Also, observe in this example that this goal is measurable and it has a deadline. Brian says “The deadline acts as a forcing system.”
I am a big believer in setting big goals and tough deadlines. When you set tough deadlines, you will observe that you can get things done faster than you ever thought possible. It’s like breaking a world record.
You don’t have to wait for someone to break the world record and prove to you that it is possible. In fact, you be the pioneer and you set the world record. Let others play catch up with you.
Now, write down your goals and if you choose you may share them in the comments section below.
